Before starting, please ensure trueSpace7.6 has been installed properly; and create a new folder somewhere in your hard disk (assume it's 'c:\models' in this tutorial).

For exporting static models, the .3ds format is a appropriate file format.

1. Insert a sample model to scene in trueSpace.

2. On the top of window, click the 'trueSpace6' tab; the window layout will be changed:

3. Select the model, then click the 'TS6 Files' on the top-left:

4. Select Save > Object from the popuped menu.

5. In the file dialog appears, select the '3DStudio binary *.3ds' file type, and save to 'c:\models\hotrod.3ds'.

6. Now, there is a 'hotrod.3ds' file in the 'c:\models' folder, but trueSpace's 3ds exporter does not copy texture files; so we use the .x exporter to copy texture files to the model folder.

7. Select TS6 Files > Save > Object again, then in the file dialog , select the 'DirectX *.x' file type, and save to 'c:\models\hotrod.x'. (please ensure the Export textures option is checked in the .x exporter's setting dialog)

8. Now import the 'c:\models\hotrod.3ds' in Awakening, please ensure the 'Split object by materials' option is checked when importing.

9. Then save the scene to the 'c:\models\hotrod.sce' in Awakening. Because the textures imported from .3ds file no include path, so you need save the scene to the same folder of the .3ds file.

( The model size is always tiny in trueSpace, so you need adjust the scene measure in Awakening sometime: Options > Miscellaneous )

Please first download the Collada DAE Importer V0.1 , and extract the DAEimp.dll to the plugins folder of Awakening.

Then in trueSpace7.6, switch to Default layout, then

1. Drag the Horse to viewport from the Characters Library, and select it.

2. Select File > Save menu from the top-right; in the file dialog appears, select the 'Collada Export Files *.dae' file type, and save to 'c:\models\horse.dae'.

3. In the popuped options dialog, set options as below:

then click Export.

4. Import the horse.dae in Awakening; the DAE Importer can load textures, but you need reassign textrues to object.

For some reason, the Collada Exporter can not export the Horse's textures, but if change the Horse's material, it'll works well with textures.
So maybe the exporter can not care all material types. Anyway, you can use the .X Exporter to export textures from trueSpace.

If you could develop a Tri plugin that would be awesome, or fix the X format one?
