Awakening 3.0 Beta Released!
======================

What's new in Awakening 3.0?

*DotProduct3 Lighting

DotProduct3 can do really per-pixel lighting without pixel shader.

*Parallax Mapping

Parallax Mapping can produce a stunningly real three-dimensional appearance on flat surfaces, without the intensive tessellation computations and extreme polygon counts required for true displacement mapping.

*Fur

Fur is important in animal rendering.

*Cloth

Compellent cloth simulation include gravity & wind calculating, primary collision detection.

*Cubic Environment Mapping

Environment mapping is a technique that simulates highly reflective surfaces without using ray tracing. Cube map are textures that contain image data representing the scene surrounding an object.

*Render To Texture

Render To Texture let you render scene to a texture, then reuse the texture for complex rendering like water, reflection, etc.

*Atmosphere Rendering

Realtime photo-realistic atmospheric lighting simulation with low hardware requirements (can runs on Geforce 256).

*Post Processing

You can do realtime image processing for rendered picture of 3d scene.

*Transform Gizmo

*Viewport Grid

*Improved Command Script API

New classes and enhanced functions.

*Improved Terragen Terrain Files Importer

Adjusted texture coordinates importing.

Nice job Smile
Up to now I've had no Vista related problems

just out of interest.. with cubic enviro mapping.. could you do cubic room panoramic which are just 6 images pre rendered? Like games like Scratches which is written in LUA Wink
I guess if it could Awakening would be years ahead of the Pipmak and SCream engines

Thanks. I've found the water scene has small problem in vista, the inverted moutain reflection in water disappear sometime. Seems vista still not mature.

In fact, no need cube map, you can achieve 6 images panoramic room by skybox: load box.tri to surfaces, then check surface's No Lightmap & Double Sided styles,
set U,V Texture Address Mode to Clamp, assign textures.
But cube mapping is more flexible, with vertex shader / pixel shader, you can do special effects like Fish Eye, Distort, etc.

you added render to texture does it get exported or does it need to be reapplied in awakeinings and did you add id or name support for multi subobject textures

No directly export function, but you can show the rendered texture by a overlay then export it by print screen.
You can use rendered textures in Awakening like normal textures, just it's content changes in every frame.
