Is it possible to create virtual chat? The type complete with avatars?

I have been interested in trying to create a virtual meeting place and was wondering if this was possible.

Sure, you can do virtual chat with Awakening.

Awakening mainly is a 3d graphics engine currently; but it's extendible. Awakeing's script api can load Lua Library or DLL; You can write DLL for network functions, then pack it to the distributed scene package and load it when scene running.

Ok great! I am happy it can be done.

But I was hoping for something that was already available.

The thought of programming DLL Shocked Shocked

OOOH GAWDUH. Shocked Shocked That is totally beyond me.

Any suggestions of how I could get this done without programming dll's myself?

Are you planning on add some native feature later that will let you do this?

You can check Lua Libraries And Bindings, there are quite a few ready libs for networking.
Yes, the native network feature in our plan; but in the near future, we'll still works aim the graphics & physics, e.g. a good terrain system.
