I have been looking for help in the internet on Volume texture. And I have found this:

http://www.antisphere.com/Research/Forest.php

It is possible to use this method in awakening 3.6.?

I would like to use volume texture but I have not found texture 3d in format (*.dds).

How can I make these textures?

Thanks

You can use this method in Awakening; and the DirectX Texture Tool can make Volume texture.

With Volume texture tool I have created a file *.dds (A8R8G8B8) from 64 horizontal slices of the model 3d of a tree.(chesnut_64.dds)
I do not know like use it in Awakening. I use a plane (mobile) to which I apply a material with the texture chesnut_64.dds. But it does not happen at all.
it necessary "D3D effect" in order that it works?

The software free to make volume texture:

the captures of the screen:

and the volume texture that I has created:

Thank you for the help.

You need slices model and corresponding shader to render the volume tree. This is somewhat similar with the fur technique; I've made a shader to demonstrate this:
